Vista’s VSW range of PoE switches offer the installer an effective solution for creating simple but powerful network designs. These compact switches allow connection to either 4, 8, 16 or 24 local cameras via PoE ports.
These switches can run in one of 2-modes*: in 100m mode they operate as regular Ethernet UTP ports with a maximum 90m transmission distance and 10/100Mbps autosensing. With the flick of a switch you can change to 250m mode, PoE port speeds are reduced to 10Mbps and inter-communication between individual PoE camera ports is disabled**, while the transmission and PoE reach of selected camera PoE ports extends to 250m.***
Each switch has dual uplink ports of either 100Mbps or 1,000Mbps maximum negotiation speeds, of which one can be utilised to connect to a local VMS server or NVR, such as Vista’s VIP series of NDAA compliant recorders - where there is a need to increase PoE port density. The remaining uplink port can be utilised for connection to either a viewing client PC or main network. With all but the 4-port switches providing 1,000Mbps UTP uplinks, and the 24-port providing 1,000Mbps fibre capability via SFP expansion ports, Vista’s range of PoE unmanaged switches provide a valuable edge and access switch function to any existing core network and switch.
