Intercom handset finder
Looking for a replacement handset for your Audio and Video Intercom System but not sure how to identify the one you need. Below are our top pointers, to find your handset then if you can’t find it then how to go about sending us the information we need to help.
- Don’t go by looks alone, if you try and select a replacement handset based on finding one that looks like yours then there is a good chance that you will get the wrong one. Many intercom manufacturers put different electronics in the same case, so making it impossible to get the wrong on by looks alone.
In the example below based on an Acet Handset, there are three different types of electronics and two different connection types, none of which will work with the others all in the same case.

- Change of Design - Very occasionally the one that you want does not even look like yours.
In the example below, Bticino used to make a 2 and 5 wire handset in the same case, while they still use the original case for the 5-wire handset, the 2-wire handset is in a new case.

Left Picture Original Case – Used to be 2 and 5 wire versions – now only 5-wire. Right Picture New Case - 2-wire version.
While the above examples are Audio Handsets the same applies to video.
- I like the look of a handset from a different brand; will it work with my system?
If it a video intercom system, the answer is No, you will need to stick with the same brand.
If it is an audio intercom system, then it will depend on the technology; a common cabling method for basic audio intercom systems is called 4+(N), 5-wire. You can get Universal handsets that will work on these systems and some 1+(N), 2-wire systems. While they are called Universal, they only work with these types of cabling, not for example the CAME/BPT 4 wire systems.
- Handsfree Audio Handset, unfortunately nobody does a Universal Handsfree Audio Handset, the Handsfree handsets that we have on here will only work with specific systems from the same brand.
- Video Handset Upgrade, many intercom brands allow you to upgrade the handset, to perhaps a handsfree model or one with Wi-Fi to allow you to forward calls on to your mobile device, but again this will depend on the technology.
So not sure which handset you need then we can help you to identify it and any replacement.
We need you to email Info@securasound.co.uk or you can WhatsApp 07980 540 117 (this number is for messages only we cannot take audio or video calls), the following images:
- Picture of the outside of the handset, clearly showing any buttons or symbols.
- Audio Handset – Picture of the inside of the Handset clearly showing the terminals, you may need to take more than one picture to ensure we can see the terminal markings. One of the pictures must show the full PCB (Circuit board), not just the bit with the connections. This is the part of the handset fasten to the wall not the part you hold in your hand.
- Video Handset – Picture of the rear of the monitor showing the backplate and a picture of the bracket that is fasten to the wall, so you will normally need to take it off the wall. If the connector block is not visible, then you will need to open it up like an Audio Handset.
- Please just don’t send us a picture of the outside case.
If you are emailing them, please send them as attachments do not imbed them in the email as it makes them difficult to zoom in to see the connections. Often when we get images sent via iPhones, they resolution is often poor/small, so please check.
Time Frame
While we will do our best to respond promptly but it can take up to 48hrs (excluding weekends), if we need to check with a manufacturer on an older handset, it can take longer, we will endeavour to advise.
